Mainland officials in charge of passenger aircraft purchases said yesterday that they were concerned over Boeing's domination of the market for large passenger aircraft following Boeing's merger with McDonnell Douglas.

However, Li Shuangquan, vice-president of China Aviation Supplies Import and Export Corp, speaking yesterday in Hong Kong, and other officials, refused to comment on whether China would place any orders for Airbus Industrie aircraft during French President Jacques Chirac's visit to China next month.
