Sydney Olympic's to lift sales at Dah Hwa

Leather trader Dah Hwa International (Holdings) expects products it is manufacturing for the Olympic games in Sydney to generate a profit margin of up to 20 per cent, significantly boosting earnings.

Managing director Lee Sam-yuen said the company had won an exclusive licence to produce and distribute official Olympic leather products for the event.

Mr Lee said the products ranged from wallets to handbags, priced between $60 and $2,000.

Executive director Stephen Callister said the company was still working on the final product range with the Olympics authority.

'We're about to despatch the first batch of products by May,' he said.

'The low market products will be launched in early 1998.' Mr Lee expected sales to peak in 1999 and 2000 when the Olympics climax.
