Larry braces himself for a Quick entry

GLOBAL village talking head Larry King, who is to braces what his pal Frank Sinatra is to toupees, has the chance to indulge in his passion when he judges Hongkong's first-ever ''Best Braces'' contest at the LA Cafe tomorrow night.

Larry, who told Keeping Posted that he hopes to introduce an ''oriental theme'' to his impressive collection of braces and ties, should get some useful tips from Hongkong's own Mr Braces - Metro Broadcast boss Craig Quick, who never leaves home without them.

Craig tells us that he will be taking part in tomorrow's competition. And the best brains in the braces business are labouring round the clock to come up with a suitable design for Craig to take on all-comers.

But we don't quite know what to make of the story that was whispered to us as to how radio man Craig came to take up wearing braces.

Apparently - and this is exactly what we were told - Craig once took his tie off and his trousers fell down!
