Diablo a devilishly good hope

DIABLO is worth one more chance after finishing strongly in fourth place behind impressive first-start winner Manor Lord in the fourth event.

Four-year-old Diablo, trained by Kenny Kam, could not get a run for almost the entire way up the straight and twice had to be switched before jockey Jackie C. K. Tse could find some daylight.

As soon as he found a gap on the outside, Diablo flew to the line in the last 100 metres but it was all too late.

Watch out for him when pushed up to 1,400 metres - the distance he ran over when a close third to the useful All Thrills and Namjong going back a few starts.

And do not give up on Star Of Marble. His run yesterday is best forgotten. Even though he was second to Dazzling Union, he is better than that and will soon be winning.

Winsome Fellow has been a useful stayer over the last few seasons and showed there is a race left in him yet when fourth to Cruise Missile in the seventh.

Just like Diablo, he was noted putting in all his best work at the finish in this 1,400-metre Class Four handicap and is worth following when sent out over farther. He has been a decent Class Three stayer.
