Elusive petrol price reduction

The petrol companies recently announced that petrol prices had been reduced at about a dozen petrol stations.

Most of the stations that I have visited on Hong Kong Island are still showing the old prices.

I was told that only one or two stations on Hong Kong Island have actually reduced prices. If that is so, it seems that the oligopolistic petrol companies are refusing to let the general public enjoy the benefit of lower crude oil prices.

The Consumer Council can and should take up the case on behalf of the public.
