World Trade Bun Kee is set to list next week on the main board.

The distributor of pipes and fittings plans to raise HK$60 million by offering 60 million shares at HK$1 each.

Of these 45 million will go to institutional investors and the rest offered to the public.

The initial public offering starts today and ends on Friday. Trading of the company's shares is expected to begin on December 21.

The weighted average earnings per share will be 24.71 HK cents, based on a profit forecast of HK$45 million and more than 182 million shares in circulation. The price-earnings multiple will stand at 4.05.

Net proceeds from the share offer are estimated to be about HK$48.75 million. Of this, about HK$22.75 million will be used for working capital.

The balance has been earmarked for the development of new products, and to set up retail outlets and an office in China.

The Hong Kong-based company specialises in supplying pipes and fittings to housing developments and infrastructural projects, with 80 per cent of its turnover coming from the private sector.

Some of the private housing projects in which World Trade Bun Kee have taken part include The Leighton Hill in Happy Valley and Les Saisons in Sai Wan Ho.

About 13 per cent of the company's turnover comes from government projects, while 6 per cent comes from its retail business.

Managing director Eric Tsang Sik-yin said several new outlets were in the pipeline as part of plans to consolidate the company's distribution network.

'We will also keep up our efforts to obtain distribution rights and in exploring new markets,' Mr Tsang said.

A representative office would be set up in China to promote the company's business.

In the six months to June 30, attributable profit was HK$45 million, on turnover of HK$212.39 million.
