Unexpected delay

We refer to the letter from Robert J. Marsh, headlined 'Still waiting for Autotoll refund' (South China Morning Post, March 16), on our joint promotion with the Tai Lam Tunnel.

We have to apologise to our subscribers, as there was an unexpected delay with the reimbursement to which Mr Marsh referred. Last year, we had a promotional campaign with Tai Lam Tunnel in which Autotoll subscribers could enjoy two free crossings while passing through the Autotoll lanes of Tai Lam Tunnel in December.

This event was successful and welcomed by more than 40,000 Autotoll users within the promotional period. However, this required the allocation of a lot of time and resources on the part of the tunnel company.

The reimbursement process started in the middle of March and was completed at the end of the month.
