April 11: More than 30 Hong Kong passengers on a Guangzhou-bound bus are injured in a collision with a car on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway.

March 25: A coach careers down a 10-metre slope in Shantou, Guangdong, killing two SAR women and injuring 44 SAR travellers.

January 26: Thirty-one Hong Kong holidaymakers are injured after a Guangdong coach loses control and rams into a hillside.

January 25: Seventeen Hong Kong holiday-makers are injured after their coach skids off the road and down a hill in Shaoguan, northern Guangdong.

2000

September 4: Four SAR holiday-makers on a five-day package tour are injured when the coach, heading to the city of Beihai from Zhanjian, in Guangxi province, crashes in wet weather.

July 14: Two Hong Kong tourists are killed and more than 30 injured when a bus taking them to Guilin skids in rain and somersaults down a 10-metre ravine. The bus was going from Wuzhou to Guilin, in Guangxi province.

September 16: A Hong Kong woman is one of six people killed when a bus overturns on a highway near Shanwei in Guangdong.

August 25: The bodies of five tourists from Hong Kong are pulled from the wreckage of an overloaded bus that plunges into a river in Guangdong after colliding with a truck.
