Good film

I WRITE in support of Miss Sandra Lau's letter (South China Morning Post, July 19), in which she said that the film Cageman should be re-classified as a Category II film.

The characters using foul language, are victims of an imperfect society and deserved viewers' sympathy. The ''young cageman'', played by the late Wong Ka-kui, of Beyond, cherished friendship and righteousness, both qualities we try to teach to our youngsters. My 14-year-old daughter and her classmates saw the film on laserdisc and did not find it unacceptable or indecent. As Ms Lau said, it is common to hear people swear on the streets of Hongkong, so Cageman should be re-classified Category II.
