24-hour city

What the Fringe Festival lost in size, this year its incarnation City JanFest has made up for in part with innovation by offering an 'all-nighter' with a difference. This unique multi-layered event at the Fringe Club caters for almost all tastes and most of it is free.

Passion on the roof: Radio Four presenter Emma Ayers will get the blood pumping with passionate classical music and film, while food and wine consultant Annabel Jackson will make foodies' hearts sing with some winter fare designed to match the mood. Waltzing under the stars to the strains of Strauss is encouraged. 7pm-9pm, Roof Garden.

Comedy: From Here To Maternity: Fresh from her sell-out success at the Edinburgh Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, mother-of-five Fiona O'Loughlin shares her hilarious observations on discount parenting, the Outback and living with foot and mouth disease. 8.30pm, Fringe Theatre, $150/$120.

Film: Love films 'till dawn. Bring along your favourite romantic DVD and the audience will vote on which will be screened. 9pm, Roof Garden/fotogalerie.

Live music: Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra. This swinging multicultural big band, with guest singer Elaine Liu (above), bring the best traditions of jazz alive. 10.30pm, E&J Gallo Gallery.

Theatre: Ghosts. A celebration of ghosts from Shakespeare to Stephen King and Disney from the London- and Tokyo-based company Performance Exchange. Midnight, Fringe Studio.

All Nighter will be held at the Fringe Club, 2 Lower Albert Road, Central tommorow, 7pm-dawn. Tel: Fringe Club box office 2521 7251 or Ticketek 31 288 288.
