China Telecom resumes rival service

China Telecom has resumed the selling of its controversial mobile call-forwarding service after a local telecommunications bureau has said it will back innovative services.

As part of efforts to encroach on the major mobile carriers' turf, the service was once banned and raised complaints from China Mobile and China Unicom. Both have reiterated their opposition and said they would closely monitor the situation.
