The restaurant's current promotion of a set dinner menu priced at HK$275 includes free drinks (soft drinks, mineral water or local beer) for a two-hour period. Seating capacity 250, plus five private rooms seating 12 to 50 persons. No dress code.

Serves authentic Cantonese food, including dim sum, seafood and bird's nest dishes. The restaurant has won awards from the Hong Kong Tourism Board for its pork and dim sum cuisine. Seating capacity 230, dress code casual smart.

YAN TOH HEEN

Open daily for lunch and dinner serving authentic Cantonese cuisine. Until July 20, a winter melon menu will be available, the fruit served double-boiled with a selection of meats or shark's fin. Until July 12, a separate menu will feature golden roe crab. Dishes include deep-fried lychee stuffed with crabmeat and Yunnan ham croquette. Seating capacity 130, dress code smart casual.

French haute cuisine, with a wine list to match the food. Open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Lunch features a three-course menu that includes a glass of wine, and four-, five- and six-course dinners. A la carte is also available. Signature dishes include braised veal shank, layers of eggplant in a red bell pepper reduction with a hint of basil oil, and peeled green grapes in muscat wine prepared three ways. Seating capacity 100, dress code smart casual during lunch, jackets for men required for dinner.

Contemporary French cuisine with the emphasis on bringing out the natural flavours of foods with the minimum use of spices and condiments.

Signature dishes include sauteed slice of duck liver with fig's sherbet, and bresse chicken stuffed with herb butter served with vegetable confit. There are more than 900 wines listed, including vintages from Chateaux.

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday, and serves brunch on Sundays. Seating capacity 85. The restaurant can also be separated into three dining rooms for private functions. Dress code smart.

VONG

French food with an Asian twist. Famous in New York, Chicago, London and Hong Kong.

Specialities on the menu are warm asparagus salad with avocado and enoki mushrooms, lobster tartine with lemongrass, fenugreek and pumpkin seed broth, and warm Valrhona chocolate cake with coconut sorbet on peppered tuile. Seating capacity 120, dress code smart casual. The restaurant is due to reopen next month.

International and Asian cuisine. Business lunches served Monday to Saturday, and on Sundays, brunch is available with unlimited champagne or juice. High tea is served Monday to Sunday.

Dishes on the a la carte menu include peppered lamb rack with ratatouille and crisp polenta and Tasmanian salmon in shitake shell with lobster coleslaw and mushroom syrup.

A pianist and double bass player perform each evening. Seating capacity 129, a private dining room seats up to 12 persons. Dress code smart casual.

Continental cuisine in one of the best settings in Hong Kong. Lunch and dinner is served Tuesday to Saturday, and during Sunday brunch a classical jazz band performs.

The restaurant serves home-style Italian cuisine. Signature dishes include fresh clam, lobster and cuttle fish linguine, and monkfish and prawn medallions wrapped in eggplant, served with potato, white wine, saffron and pine-nut sauce.

Currently, a complimentary bottle of red or white wine will be given to diners spending a minimum of HK$250 per person, based on a minimum of two people.

TOSCANA

The restaurant is celebrating its first anniversary with a special dinner menu costing HK$688. Specialities include live king prawn tempura, tempura chazuke and uni tempura, as well as dishes such as hiramasa sea urchin sashimi rolled with hirame, simmered kinme wrapped with bean curd and vegetable, teppanyaki beef steak with fried burdock, and seasonal Japanese fruits.

The current seating capacity of 92 will extend to 120 when a VIP room opens at the end of the month. Dress code smart casual.

KAETSU

Classic Japanese food served at the sushi counter and a la carte. This is the most extensive menu in Hong Kong, apparently.

Look out for the introduction of kaiseki cuisine that new chef Ito Hiroyuki will soon introduce (see our feature on hotel chefs for details).

Specialities include Saturday noodle lunch buffet and Sunday sushi and sashimi lunch and dinner buffets. Seats 60, including 22 at the bar.

Two private dining rooms cater for parties up to 12 persons. Dress code smart casual.
