CHECK IN

Get lost: Sofia Coppola's latest film, Lost In Translation, opens in Hong Kong on Thursday, and The Park Hyatt Tokyo, where most of the Oscar-tipped movie is set, is offering a special package mirroring the antics of its main characters (played by Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson). Priced at $27,656 (Park Room) or $38,574 (Park Suite), the deal includes: five nights' accommodation; daily breakfast for two; complimentary bottle of sake; a one-hour introductory lesson on Japanese culture and etiquette; a nightly cocktail in the New York Bar; dinner at modern Japanese restaurant Kozue; a half-day tour of Tokyo with lunch; and one shiatsu massage per person. Available until June 30. For details call 800 233 1234 or visit www.tokyo.park.hyatt.com

More the merrier: United Airlines is offering return flights to Tokyo from $2,000. Travel alone and pay $2,250; fly with a friend and pay $2,150 each; or go in a group of three or more and pay only $2,000 a piece, until March 31. Call Brian at Window Discovery Tours for more details (tel: 2366 7830).

Weekend sojourns: Short flights (75 minutes direct), white sand beaches, and being near World Heritage Sites at Hue, Hoi An and My Son make Vietnam's central city of Danang an ideal short-break option. Pacific Airlines is offering four-day/three-night or five-day/four-night packages to Danang for $3,380 and $3,880, respectively, until September 30. Includes: return economy flights; transfers; accommodation at the five-star Furama Resort Danang (www.furamavietnam.com); and daily breakfast. Flights depart Hong Kong on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2.50pm, and Danang at 10.25am. Contact Candy at Vietlink International Travel for more details (tel: 2367 8113).

Singapore sling: The new G-Max Reverse Bungee at Clarke Quay is all the rage in the Lion City. Shipped over from New Zealand, this variation on bungee jumping is basically a giant slingshot. An open-air steel capsule is stretched on bungee cord between two 36-metre-high towers and then catapulted up to 60 metres in the air at 200km/h. Tickets are S$30 (HK$137). Open 11am-10.30pm daily. Tel: [65] 633 811 46, www.gmax.co.nz

Lounging around: One of New York's hippest new haunts is Marquee, in the city's Upper Chelsea district. Celebrities spotted at the gentlemen's club-style lounge since its opening a few weeks ago have included P. Diddy, Donatella Versace, Benicio Del Toro and starlet du jour Scarlett Johansson (Lost In Translation and Girl With A Pearl Earring). The nightspot features a main cabaret space with vaulted ceilings, a 10-metre-wide wishbone staircase, a 15-metre- high glass wall and a Red Room, which the owners say is ideal for 'intimate interaction' (289 Tenth Avenue, corner of 26th Street, NY 1000; tel: [1] 646 473 0202).
