Nothing destroys the clean lines and tasteful neutral palettes of the modern home more than kiddie clutter. All those acid brights and shiny plastic may be stimulating for the little darlings but do nothing for the taupe linen curtains or gun-metal grey suede sofas.

But Australian architect and mother Sally Dominquez has designed a highchair that will sit happily with the ubiquitous polypropylene Panton chair or sweeping Castiglioni Arco floor lamp. Crafted in UV-stabilised polyethylene (design speak for 'won't fade in sunlight') with a stainless-steel base, the Nest highchair is reminiscent of 60s styling and looks like it rolled straight off the Starship Enterprise.
