Consultancy in the hunt for a senior manager

Would you like to work with a dedicated specialist retail consultancy and the largest retail marketing team in Asia?

The world's leading real estate services and money management firm, operating in more than 100 markets around the globe, is seeking a new senior manger, retail consultancy.

In addition to providing management, implementation and investment management services on a local, regional and global level to owners, occupiers and investors, Jones Lang LaSalle is the industry leader in property and corporate facility management services, with a portfolio of more than 835 million sqft under management worldwide.

'This job is an advisory role, providing advice for clients [that runs] the gamut of retail development, from conception and design to planning and marketing, to enable clients to make quality decisions,' said Fung Kin-Keung, managing director, Hong Kong at Jones Lang LaSalle.

At the planning stage, the recruit will have a heavy involvement in market analysis, consumer market research, site analysis, retailer surveys, financial analysis and case study analysis to help clients make informed decisions.

'At the design stage, he or she will play a part in the retail concept review and anchor tenant leasing,' Mr Fung said.

Once at the marketing stage, the successful candidate will play a part in devising plans with the goal of achieving the best possible deal for clients.

'In short, the job offers fun, variety and exposure to the entire avenue of retail development,' Mr Fung said.

'The incumbent will need to identify trends and will have the opportunity to work with a wide spectrum of retailers, developers, architects, brand consultants, public relations consultants, market researchers, town planners and so forth.'

The applicant most likely to succeed must have an acute retail sense and a passion for retail development.

An analytical mind, an aptitude for strategic thinking, sound communication and a persuasive bent are advantageous.

'[You should also have] strong writing skills with an eye for detail, professionalism - with the ability to provide value-added points of difference to clients,' Mr Wong said.

Ideally, the candidate should hold a degree in marketing, economics, surveying or real estate.

What makes this position tempting to real estate experts on the fast track?

In addition to providing on-the-job training by top-class professionals from an employer that is recognised as the training school of the real estate industry, Jones Lang LaSalle offers good prospects and development opportunities, according to Mr Fung.

'Our people set us apart - they are our most important asset - and Jones Lang LaSalle has a long, proud history of nurturing talent,' he said.
