Agency fined $8,000 for overcharging job seekers

An employment agency was fined $8,000 for overcharging job seekers, the Labour Department said. Whitney Company Ltd was convicted in Kwun Tong Court. The agency charged a job seeker $4,000 for processing an employment contract. The maximum penalty is $50,000.

Most people want better clinic services, poll finds

Sixty-six per cent of people want internet and telephone registration to consult government doctors instead of queuing, a survey found. The Democratic Party polled 532 people between June 27 and July 2 by telephone. Andrew Cheng Kar-foo said the survey found 85.9 per cent wanted resources increased to offer night services at clinics.
