Toys for the big boys at upmarket residence

Homeowners at The Residence Bel-Air, the residential portion of Cyberport, were reeled in by the property developer with promises of a luxurious lifestyle - and on Saturday afternoon they proved to be true to their word. Teaming up with big names such as Maybach, Princess V58 Yachts and Tatler magazine, more than 200 guests participated in Escapade 05, a showcase of toys for the big boys.

While sipping Johnnie Walker and nibbling on canapes, guests took turns sitting inside the $8 million Maybach 62 limousine. Hong Kong's Elite model winner for this year, Melanie Z, was back in town and showed off, with five other models, Nautica's summer collection. Guests then headed to the Waterfront Pier nearby, where a Princess V58 yacht waited to welcome them aboard for a quick ride. It was a VIP afternoon of fun in the sun.

While we're on the subject of Bel-Air, let CitySeen clarify the whole Bel-Air mystique. While most people know of Bel Air, California, some of us don't know where Bel-Air on the Peak is. It is the third phase of the Bel-Air housing development, the other phases being Residence Bel-Air and Residence Bel-Air, South Towers. Bel-Air on the Peak is not on The Peak as we know it. It's built on a slight elevation (about three storeys) at the Cyberport. Confusing as this may be, 'Bel-Air on the Hill' doesn't have the same ring.
