Ohh-aah, are you Eric Cantona?

He could not get on the Tube in London without getting mobbed. But former Manchester United captain Eric Cantona was spotted riding the MTR from Central to Causeway Bay on Tuesday without too many people noticing.

According to our source, the legendary footballer, 39, was travelling with a little girl, presumably his daughter, and another man.

And although he's gained some weight and grown a beard since he retired at 30, fans should have been able to identify the superstar from recent press photos.

Maybe the men who stood near Cantona didn't let on that they recognised him, but one woman whipped out her cellphone camera and got a shot of him before he alighted.

At the weekend, Cantona and local actor Andy Lau Tak-wah were guests at the APM Mall's inauguration ceremony in Kwun Tong. Lau had told reporters that Cantona did not know who he (Lau) was and had questioned his superstardom.

To the rest of the world, Cantona may by known as 'Eric the King', but on our tiny turf, Lau is one of the 'Four Heavenly Kings'.
