two in one

As a frequent traveller, I often buy a SIM card in the country I'm visiting to save on roaming charges for local calls and so the people there don't have to make an IDD call every time I become hopelessly lost in a shopping mall. But I need to balance this against the fact people elsewhere in the world still need to get in touch; giving them a new phone number to call each week isn't practical.

Now there is a solution.

The Duobao 728 Twin SIM Card Phone is the answer to my prayers; it can hold two GSM SIM cards at the same time, allowing you to place and receive calls using either.

The other features are fairly predictable: a 5.5cm touchscreen, a 0.3-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot and the ability to play MP3s and some video formats. Unfortunately, this is just a dual-band GSM phone, which limits your roaming options.

The Duobao 728 sells in Hong Kong for HK$1,480.
