Leaders of tomorrow

A group of secondary school students will undergo intensive training in Beijing and Hong Kong to enhance their sense of social responsibility and leadership skills.

The Hong Kong 200 Leadership Project is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) and the All-China Youth Federation. Under the programme - now in its second year - 200 local teenagers will undergo 200 hours of training this summer.

The participants will attend lectures by professors from well-known mainland tertiary institutes, including Tsinghua and Peking universities.

They will also meet senior government officials and take part in sharing sessions and study tours.

These are aimed at giving the students a better understanding of the mainland and developing their leadership skills.

The participants will join the Hong Kong 200 Association and host various activities in the city, including conferences and presentations and also publish a report.

The scheme recruits new members every April.
