Short story contest

In an effort to support arts and literature in Hong Kong, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce is hosting its second annual Maple Leaf Short Story Competition as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.

Based on the theme 'Looking Back, Looking Forward', organisers are aiming to promote and reward writing talent by connecting winners with publishers.

Writers have to be over 12 and a resident of Hong Kong or Macau. The piece should be in English, and the length can vary.

Three copies of the work, each with a contact sheet listing personal details, should be sent to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Suite 1301, 32 Hollywood Road, Central, attention 'Maple Leaf Short Story Competition'.

There is a HK$50 entry fee and the competition closes on September 14.

Winners will be announced in early October on the chamber's website. They will be awarded cash prizes and published in an anthology.
