New taste sensation hits Hong Kong

Belgian chocolatier Godiva introduces a new range of chocolates to the Hong Kong market next month. The Godiva Chocoiste collection consists of four new sweets: solid chocolate and caramel bars, truffle-filled domes, chocolate-covered fruits and nuts, and chocolate 'pearls', in mint, dark and milk chocolate flavours.

Regal offering for clubbers

Pernod Ricard is offering the public a chance to gain entry to the Luxury Week event. Guests at Drop and Kee Club buying a glass of Chivas Regal18 or a bottle of Perrier-Jouet champagne will be entered into a lucky draw, with winners securing entry to the event. Each venue will have six tickets to give away. The promotion runs until August24. Alternatively, between August25 and September9 patrons making the same purchase will be entered into a draw entitling winners to a bottle of Chivas Regal18 or a bottle of Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque champagne. Meanwhile, the whisky label will have its mixologist Max Warner on hand at the Luxury Week event between August31 and September4 mixing up cocktails for guests, including the Chivas bullion, a blend of Chivas Regal12, peach liqueur, vanilla liqueur, Amaretto and champagne.

Kitchen showroom goes interactive

Thinking of splashing out on some new kitchenware? Then check out Miele's revamped Causeway Bay boutique for inspiration. The new 1,000 sqft showroom is a flagship for the brand and shows off its avant-garde design philosophy from the outside in. Located in the district's hub for high-end brands, Lee Gardens, the showroom displays digital project artwork and thematic window displays. The interior is split into thematic zones according to the brand's products and includes a virtual kitchen, where plasma screens are used to create a mirage effect. Secret panels are located in each zone, which browsers are encouraged to use to 'discover' hidden products. The idea was to give visitors an interactive introduction to its products, the brand said.

Eco-friendly car combines style and agility

What has a chrome band running around its body to accentuate its taut, powerful lines? The new C-Class from Mercedes-Benz which, according to the company, gives the car an 'impressive presence'. The car, which was recently launched in Hong Kong, has been redesigned inside and out. It comes equipped with an agility control package designed to respond to driving situations with shock absorbing control. Other new features include an intelligent light system, which provides five functions to allow the driver to optimise light according to driving and weather conditions. The redesign has increased interior space, which is decked in wood trim, chrome and leather. The new model is said to reduce fuel emissions by 6 per cent more than its predecessor.

Limited edition from luxury pen maker

Luxury pen maker Waterman will launch a limited edition pen later this year. The Exception will be available in two versions, in vermeil, and solid silver, and each will be numbered and engraved with the brand's hallmarks. Distinctive features include an 18-carat-gold engraved nib. The pens are expected to be available in time for the Christmas season.
