A simple plan to save energy and fight global warming

The 'Make a Simple Switch Energy Saving School Education Campaign 2007/08', organised by Philips Electronics Hong Kong, will be held between September 2007 and April 2008.

The campaign is designed to enhance students' awareness of energy conservation and global warming.

Throughout the year, there will be inter-school and individual competitions, such as an energy-saving desk design competition, environmental video-making competition and jingle creation competition.

Nearly 100 schools have enrolled in the campaign. Christine Chiang, head of the environmental protection club at German Swiss International School, said: 'We're always promoting energy saving in our school. Through this campaign, our students can participate in various events, gain hands-on experience, show their creativity as well as enhance their awareness and knowledge of energy conservation.'
