Perfect opening for the adventurous type

An outdoorsman with a love for working with young people is sought for this adventurous job in an outdoor-based learning centre for youth and adults.

Dragonfly is looking for a senior staffing officer to meet programme demand and calls on all applicants who are familiar with the field, get along with others and genuinely care for young people, to join their staff.

'This is not your normal desk job,' said Will Huetinck, director.

'At least half the time you are out in the field co-ordinating school programmes and leading activities like biking, kayaking, hiking and camping or surfing.'

At the office, the person would be responsible for organising training programmes for field and office staff, upcoming programmes and improving safety on programmes.

'This is an important role because this person will be co-ordinating all staff activities and development,' he said.

The job requires someone with at least five years of international experience in outdoor education certifications, training certifications plus a background in education. Five to 15 people would be reporting to this person.

'We really want candidates who have an extensive knowledge of outdoor education and who are passionate about teaching,' he said. 'Our company is a great place to work because you get to work with the young and future leaders of the community. It is also great to spend time outdoors and doing the activities we love.'

English is a requirement. Cantonese, Putonghua or second language speakers would be a bonus.
