YLPMSAA Tang Siu Tong Secondary School

Twelve school records were broken at the athletic meet organised by YLPMSAA Tang Siu Tong Secondary School on October 16 and 17. Former graduates competed with students and teachers in various events.

On the second day, there was a soccer match between former students and the teachers. Both teams showed excellent sportsmanship and a wonderful sense of unity.

In addition, the four houses - Diligence, Filial Piety, Friendship and Honesty - gave it their all in a bid to win the best cheerleader championship.

The cheering squads showed their appreciation of different cultures by choosing songs from four different languages - Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Japanese. Filial Piety House won the best cheering team award, while Friendship House took the overall championship.

It was a day to remember for all.

Chong Gene Hang College

The school's Inter-house Swimming Gala was held on September 25. The weather was fine and everyone had an enjoyable day at Chai Wan Swimming Pool.

The event began with an opening speech by the principal, Li Siu-wah, who encouraged swimmers to do their best.

Yellow House were the overall champions. The individual champions were Yu Kai-yin of Blue House (Grade A), Lee Chun-hong of Yellow House (Grade B) and Wan Shun-fai of Red House (Grade C). The prizes were presented by Wong Chor-sang, a committee member of the school's Old Boys' Union.

True Light Girls' College

This month, True Light Girls' College in Yau Ma Tei celebrated its 35th anniversary.

The event was attended by students, teachers and alumni. We celebrated with a school history competition and by making special anniversary True Light mugs, among other things.

The highlight, however, was a 35th Anniversary Concert held on October 10 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Jockey Club Auditorium.

The concert included a variety show and a performance of the musical, The Wizard of Oz. It was the culmination of six months' hard work for the performers.

In the variety show, the Junior Choir, the School Orchestra, the Old Girls' Choir and the School Choir all put on splendid performances.

Most impressive was a performance of Handel's Hallelujah chorus from Messiah by both the Old Girls' Choir and the School Choir.

The entire audience stood up for the duration of the moving performance.

The Wizard of Oz was both profound and funny, and there was a photo shoot with the actors backstage after the show.

On behalf of all of us who enjoyed the concert so much, we would like to thank the teachers for their efforts in preparing for the big event.

We all look forward to the next anniversary of True Light Girls' College!
