Ex-model's bed bounced a bit too much on big day

Every bride thinks the earth moved on her wedding day, but it actually did for Hong Kong's Kelly England.

The former model turned glamour guru tied the knot with her wine-importer boyfriend Nikolas Prehn last weekend in Bali.

On the big day, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake got everyone up nice and early - not that the nervous bride was getting a lot of beauty sleep anyway.

'The earthquake came at 7 in the morning,' said England, who also runs a beauty website and wrote the popular book Guide to Life.

'I woke up alone in the honeymoon villa - Nikolas was with his parents - with the huge, heavy wooden bed bouncing around the room. Everything was swaying and jumping. It was intense. I have to admit my first thought was: 'Is an earthquake on your wedding day a good omen?' I am very superstitious.

'I didn't go back to sleep after that, as I was totally wired and excited by how surreal the whole thing was. I said a small prayer: 'Please, please not today!' All day everyone was asking: 'Do you think there will be another one?' As if I would know the answer.'

The nuptials went ahead without a hitch, with England looking stunning in a gown by local designer Annasul Y. However, the experience did give the newlywed one insight on the difference between the sexes.

'It was funny how the men all wanted to get their girlfriends and wives outside buildings as fast as possible and the women all wanted to stay in bed. I suppose we have different instincts.'
