On the shelf

You probably wouldn't want to spoon any of The Wine and Truffle Company's latest honey product into your tea: it would be a waste of an expensive ingredient and the taste would be awful. Made with hazelnuts, honey and truffle oil, the honey is delicious with salty cheese - especially parmesan or pecorino, because the flavours in the honey complement the cheese. It's made in Western Australia and costs HK$118 for 200 grams at Great, Pacific Place, Admiralty (tel: 2918 9986).

The packaging on the Absolut Vodka Rock Edition doesn't make the contents taste any better, but it looks awfully cool. The designers were obviously going for a rock 'n' roll look but it looks quite sadomasochistic - it reminded us of the bottle version of the Gimp (from the Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction). It came to us in a guitar case but it's sold without them at shops such as Oliver's in the Prince's Building, Central (tel: 2810 7710).
