You may have  heard of the tai sui, or grand duke, sector. This year, it refers to the sector  governed by the tiger, which  is located at 52.5 to 67.5 degrees. This corresponds to the northeast sector. Now we know where the grand duke sector is, how does that help us?
It is recommended  that you don't dig, drill or knock down any walls in the northeast sector of your property this year. If the northeast sector of your garden requires some work, for example, you'd be advised to wait until  next year to carry it out. 
If  you undertake any major renovation in the northeast  sector, you are  disturbing or moving the grand duke, and this may result in financial loss, health problems or accidents and mishaps. If it is imperative for you  to carry out some construction in the grand duke sector, it is preferable that you consult an experienced fung  shui practitioner, who will  suggest dates on which to carry out  the work to  minimise the detrimental effects.
Don't assume that misfortune will occur to all occupants of properties that sit northeast this year. What is  important is that  this sector is kept  tranquil. If  this condition is met, living in, or moving into, a property that sits northeast will  not  be  problematic  in terms of fung shui.
