Wadasurprise to give Prebble shot in the arm

Brett Prebble's chances of a first jockeys' title are hanging by a thread as he heads into the final four meetings with a one-win advantage after drawing a blank again on Thursday, but exciting last-start winner Wadasurprise can help him get back on track in the middle leg of tomorrow's Triple Trio at Sha Tin.

The Gary Ng Ting-keung-trained four-year-old never made an impact in his first five runs, and was then given more time to learn the basics with seven barrier trials over 5 1/2 months. He nearly threw all the training out the window when trying to savage Mars Express when 10th - beaten 4 1/4 lengths behind High Luck - over the Sha Tin mile under Greg Cheyne.

Fitted with blinkers for his next start on May 16, Wadasurprise travelled more genuinely for Cheyne and closed off well for second behind Decent Fellow over the 1,600m.

Prebble was on board for his latest run on June 16, and he quickened nicely to draw clear by 2 1/2 lengths over this course and distance (1,800m). Despite a step up in grade, he can repeat the dose from an ideal draw of four.

Something Special, who has been knocking on the door in his last three starts, can act as a dual banker, while last-start winner Breaking Point, Healthy Blueberry, Sabina and Bravo Winner can fight it out for third.

In the first leg, Racing Legend caught the eye when flashing home for second behind smart Win Win Charms over the 1,200m when fitted with a tongue tie and blinkers. He will relish a rise in trip and will be hard to beat.

Compact Yarn, who put the writing on the wall last start when second over 1,200m but is drawn off the track, Caga Boy, Double Dragon, Lotus Love and Many Gains are worth consideration.

In a tricky final leg, it's hard to go past Little Dreams as a banker. He may be a risk in his dirt debut, but has run on well to make the frame in six of seven starts against some nice types and is drawn to get every chance.

Vigor Delight has been mixing his form, but will be rolling late with the booking of 10-pound claimer Vincent Ho Chak-yiu, while Cheque Book, Ole Ole, Grand Dancer, Mighty Sun and Moonwalk are other logical choices.
