Meeting Point shuts up shop and celebrates with last supper

Time to move on: The headquarters of Meeting Point will be consigned to the history books with the setting up of the new Democratic Party. Meeting Point is selling its 1,160-square-feet offices in Jordan after merging with the United Democrats on October 1.

Past and present members will be invited to a farewell dinner next month. Property experts say the office could sell for up to $7.5 million. It was bought for about $3.5 million in 1991. Meeting Point legislator Fred Li Mah-wing said he would be sad to leave.
