I just had a baby and heard one of the other new mums talking about these amazing machines from Germany that get rid of fat for you with some sort of vacuum? Please tell me where I can get one so I can drop this baby weight and get back into my old clothes.

I'm willing to bet, however, that you're thinking of Hypoxi, which apparently celebs such as Madonna and Cheryl Cole have used. If you want to understand the science behind it, go ask Dr Norbert Egger, the weight-loss specialist who founded the company. The basic idea is that traditional methods are combined with technology to shift fat, increase lymphatic drainage and tighten skin. If you think this is an easy alternative to exercising and watching what you eat, think again. You still need to do that. The Hypoxi Trainer L250 or S120 involves machines but also some mild to moderate stationary bike riding. There's the Vacunaut, which combines vacuum therapy with compression to increase circulation and attack fat around the hips and abdomen. If your skin hasn't quite snapped back to pre-pregnancy tautness, then there's Dermology, which gives a compression massage while vacuum-cupping the skin for immediately visible results. Whatever the case, there's no harm in giving this a try (pack- ages start from HK$1,888). If you're a new mother, you should consult your gynaecologist first. It'll be about six weeks till you get the OK after a normal birth, longer post-Caesarean.

I'm guessing you didn't know you can find a limited selection of Topshop items at Lane Crawford and it does have a few round-collar tops (HK$350 to HK$450; Pacific Place, tel: 2118 3668).
