Hong Kong’s minibus tycoon has made his fortune, now can he buy buses with seat belts?

Your edition of May 15 extolled the strategy for success in business of Mr Ma Ah Muk, owner of the city’s largest minibus fleet (“From minibuses to world’s most expensive tower: how Hong Kong tycoon Ma Ah Muk made and kept a fortune”).

Many minibuses owned by Mr Ma that bear his name on the inside of their doors are old, dirty and still have no seat belts many years after the seat-belt requirement was enacted.

Perhaps Mr Ma could spend some of his vast fortune on the purchase of new, clean, comfortable minibuses equipped with seat belts, a vital requirement given the driving standard of some of his employees.
