Carrying on its legacy for innovation and quality for more than 120 years, NiKKi Fron is initiating its rebirth as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of super engineering plastic. The company is delivering to a growing Asian clientele its breakthrough technologies in fluoroplastics used in semiconductor wafer cleaning, fibre-reinforced plastics for clutch facings and injection moulding machines.

“We continuously answer the needs of customers in the oil, chemicals, medical, vehicle, power generation and semiconductor industries with our innovative material technologies,” says president Takayuki Kasuga. “We’ve greatly enhanced our processing frameworks in terms of precision, productivity and cost effectiveness.”

To withstand extreme heat and chemical abrasion, precisely engineered fluoroplastics are used in the wafer cleaning process. NiKKi Fron boasts a distinct capability in using precise processing technologies to design fluoroplastic chambers larger than 500mm and in complicated shapes. To satisfy leading manufacturers of semiconductor production equipment, the company completed a cutting-edge fluoroplastic production line in Japan in December last year even with the devastating floods caused by typhoon Hagibis in October.

The state-of-the-art plant incorporates internet of things, artificial intelligence, automation and other technologies compliant with Industry 4.0. This year, NiKKi Fron will establish a new fluoroplastic production line in Thailand to diversify and strengthen its supply chain after its experience with the calamity and the Covid-19 pandemic.

To serve its growing clientele in Southeast Asia and South Asia following its success in Pakistan, the company has set up a second fibre-reinforced plastics factory for clutch facings in Thailand and a strategic sales base in Ho Chi Minh city. The new plant’s highly efficient manufacturing process can blend resin, rubber and glass fibre to create a full range of clutch facings for the world market. The initiative responds to the growing after-sales opportunities in Asia brought about by countries still using manual vehicles.

“By taking advantage of our bases overseas, we expect new doors to open for us in South Asia and Southeast Asia,” Kasuga says. “We’ll continue to provide the best manufacturing processes as we welcome trustworthy distribution partners.”
