A little over a decade ago, information technology (IT) was a minor theme within business and industry conferences. As companies yearned for greater efficiency and seamless processes, however, the IT sector took centre stage, and leading Filipino IT solutions and outsourcing specialist Alliance Software is keen to meet the demand for quality and cost-effective IT services by collaborating with businesses across the Asean region.

“IT solutions and services are no longer limited to a specific industry today,” says Robert Cheng, president and CEO. “Digitalisation encompasses almost all industries, and IT solutions have become something basic for any company to have. This opens up opportunities for Alliance.”

Founded by Cheng, Sherwin Yu and Geoffrey Sy in 2000 when software development activities in the country were just starting to gain ground, Alliance has since been a preferred technology partner of many retail and financial services companies from Japan, Australia, the United States and the Philippines.

Adopting the Japanese mindset for quality, cost efficiency and timely delivery, and combining this with the Filipino culture of excellent service, the company leverages its extensive experience and multilingual skills to offer cutting-edge yet practical IT and business solutions.

“We can talk to clients in Japanese or in English,” says Yu, chief operating officer. “We do a lot of research on global technology trends and we try to assess and explain these to our clients and offer tailored solutions. Our clients appreciate this customer-centric approach.”

Headquartered in Cebu, a major IT hub in the Philippines, the ISO 9001- and ISO 27001-certified company maintains offices in Tokyo and Manila. Its more than 300 highly skilled employees collaborate with various sales and technology partners to bridge engineering gaps and deliver high-quality services.

“The key to thrive in this industry is to effectively manage and grow the right resources,” Cheng says. “Service is all about communication and attitude. Our mindset is to always exceed client expectations.”
