Capacity, convenience and connectivity. These three pillars secure Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) – Thailand’s first purpose-built exhibition centre – as one of Asia’s premier venues for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). With fully Wi-fi-enabled exhibition areas, multipurpose halls, and spacious indoor and outdoor facilities, BITEC is a one-stop MICE and entertainment destination that can transform events into success.

“We’re flexible, focused and dedicated in meeting clients’ specifications,” says Christoph Hodapp, general manager. “Our halls can support heavy machinery for major international trade expos, and transform into a grand stage for a live concert, theatre or entertainment show the next day.”

Last month, BITEC opened its feature event hall EH 100, which reaches a height of 25 metres allowing greater flexibility, particularly for the lifestyle sector.

BITEC’s strategic location allows easy access to Bangkok’s two international airports, Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang. The centre’s direct link to Bang Na BTS Skytrain station will enable venue visitors and exhibitors to explore the capital city’s accommodation, dining, shopping and entertainment options. The skywalk to the BTS is expected to be completed by the middle of next year.

Hosting an average of 80 events and with up to 3 million visitors annually, BITEC’s expansion provides better opportunities to connect clients with potential partners and match vendors with target consumers. Upon completion of BITEC’s expansion over the coming months, the centre’s total event space will increase to 70,000 square metres. The project also includes an office tower that will be operational by the second quarter of next year, and BHIRAJ Convention Centre, which will feature three modern convention halls and 12 meeting rooms.

BITEC has received accolades for its cutting-edge facilities and state-of-the-art technology. In January, the centre obtained the Thailand MICE Venue Standard certification, the first formal accreditation for venues in the country. It also gained ISO 14001:2015 environmental management certification in June.

BITEC seeks partnerships with local professional organisations to help promote its presence within Asia.
