1. The US$4.2 billion floral-themed Wynn Palace opened its gates on August 22, with 1,706 rooms, suites and villas. Highlights include an eight-acre performance lake, four exquisite restaurants serving Western, contemporary Cantonese, regional Chinese and Japanese cuisine, plus luxury shops and an opulent spa and salon. Guests are transported into the palace via uniquely themed, air-conditioned Sky Cabs, which traverse the stunning performance lake.

2. A piece of Paris comes to Macau this September with the opening of the US$3.2 billion Parisian Macao. A half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower – featuring its own Pan Asian-style restaurant with French elements, called La Chine – marks the entrance to the hotel. Here you can enjoy a taste of Paris along with spectacular views of the Cotai Strip.

Set to Tchaikovsky’s score, Swan Lake tells the story of the young prince named Siegfried, who falls deeply in love with Odette – a young woman who was transformed into a white swan by the evil sorcerer Rothbart. Following sold out seasons in London, Paris and Singapore, the ballet sensation comes to Macau, promising audiences a performance to remember.

5. Don’t miss the free interactive fish-feeding show every day at 3pm inside MGM Macau’s aquarium. Fitted with a hi-tech communications system, the divers can talk to guests and answer questions from within the aquarium. Visitors can enjoy a 360-degree unobstructed view of over a thousand fish such as clownfish, Pacific regal blue, Moorish idol, yellow sailfin, longnose butterfly, pufferfish, spotted eagle ray and many other species besides.
