One World International School: A multicultural, kindness-led international school where students develop a love of learning

One World International School provides an international education to students from the ages of 3 to 18 in a nurturing, multicultural environment. Our diverse student and teacher community promotes an understanding of different perspectives, cultures and global awareness. We maintain our student diversity by limiting each individual nationality to no more than 30 percent of our student population.

An all-inclusive and truly diverse school where children can safely nurture who they are and what they want to be.

We have two vibrant school environments in Singapore – the first is an all-through Early Childhood to Grade 12 campus in the West, and the second is an Early Childhood to Primary Grade 6 campus in the CBD. We will have a third all-through, purpose-built campus which is being designed in the North-East of Singapore, which is scheduled to open in 2023 (subject to CPE approval).

Our kindness-driven school is a popular choice among expat families. Through our personalised teaching approach, we nurture academic excellence and encourage our students to grow into independent, skilled, and socially aware individuals.

“One World International School (OWIS) has provided such a positive experience for my son and our family. The OWIS family embraced us with open arms and my son felt immediately included. On his very first day, he told me "I feel like I have been going to this school for a long time. I love it here!" He’s been excited to go to school ever since.”, says Sophie K. whose son studies at OWIS.

We provide an internationally recognised academic pathway, comprising the IB Primary Years Programme, Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme, all at a moderately priced fee point. Our students are active participants in their learning process with access to hands-on, real-life learning experiences and the best technological resources.

Play-based and inquiry-led learning in the Early Years

Based on the IB PYP and underpinned by the English National Curriculum, our Early Childhood programme (ages 3 to 6) follows a play-based and inquiry-led approach to learning. Through activities suitable for their development stage, each child embarks on an exciting journey of self-discovery and sensory exploration of the world around them. Students also enjoy Art, Music, and Physical Education and start building their understanding of Mandarin as a second language.

Fostering inquisitive, lifelong learners in Primary School

For our Primary students (ages 7 to 11), our teachers use the IB PYP framework to focus on conceptual learning where students can lead the direction of some of the learning, guided and assisted by the teacher. Our students at OWIS are encouraged to become independent thinkers, who take responsibility for their own learning and for their actions as human beings. They are able to learn through a variety of techniques, from reading and researching, to practical skills and play scenarios. (OWIS Nanyang is an accredited IB World School, and OWIS Suntec is an IB PYP Candidate School.)

The IB PYP at OWIS helps your child build their character, develop critical thinking skills and become an inquisitive, lifelong learner.

“I love the international exposure, strong second language curriculum and less stressful environment compared to other international schools. The fees are reasonable too.”, says Chung-An C. who moved from Taiwan to Singapore and whose son,Yu-Qi C. is a student in OWIS’ primary school.

Empowering your child to achieve their full potential in Secondary School

For our Secondary students (ages 12 to 18), we offer academically rigorous learning based on the Cambridge IGCSE and the globally recognised IBDP. Our Secondary students have access to experiential learning opportunities and learn to use technology safely and effectively to enhance their education. They hone their critical thinking and collaboration skills through independent research and group project work. Our University Counselling team provides the necessary guidance to help our graduating students secure places at their chosen universities and achieve their academic, professional and personal goals.

English language support through the EAL (English as an Additional Language) Programme

We welcome students who are new to English in Early Childhood and offer our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme for students in Grades 1 to 6.

Our EAL specialists work directly with students, using our engaging EAL curriculum, to help them improve their English skills. The number and frequency of EAL lessons required for each student are determined by the EAL teachers based on a pre-assessment. Each student’s progress is closely monitored throughout the EAL lessons with a final assessment at the end of the programme. Our students gain sufficient proficiency by the end of the programme to independently access the learning in the Secondary curricula and achieve their goals.

Additional programmes to build a well-rounded educational experience

In addition to our core subjects, our learning programmes at OWIS also include Languages, Arts (Performing and Visual arts), Sports, Music and Outdoor Learning. We also offer exciting Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) at both of our campuses to ensure a well-rounded education for our students. OWIS Suntec, in particular, has an inclusive and robust CCA programme, which leverages partnerships with specialist schools that are close to the centrally-located campus.

Co-Curricular Activities at OWIS helps your child to explore their passions, learn new skills and boost their confidence in areas such as sports, arts, music and languages after school hours.
