Chinese Opera Festival 2016
The annual festival is back with a selection of operas for enthusiasts and newbies alike. This year’s programme features a number of operas devoted to the mythical Sun Wukong (aka the Monkey King), in celebration of the Chinese zodiac year. Organisers have also invited distinguished performers to stage works to commemorate Ming dynasty playwright Tang Xianzu on this the 400th year of his death.
Shaolin Fez: Unplugged Part I
The charity bug has taken hold of one of Hong Kong’s most uniquely special bands. The eclectic jazz/pop-rock/classical ensemble will be hosting a couple shindigs to crowdfund their new album. As for the charity part, the group has promised to donate 100 per cent of their album sales to support Save the Children’s relief efforts in Syria.

A Musical Journey with the Fiddlesticks
