AFS exchange students can visit one of nearly 50 nations.

Secondary students invited to apply for foreign exchanges

The global non-profit organisation AFS is recruiting secondary school students for exchange programmes in 2015-16 in nearly 50 countries. Applicants, aged between 15 and 181/2, must be willing to learn about different cultures and meet people with diverse backgrounds. Scholarships and grants are available.

'Imaginative' fine art works on show

Australia's RMIT University and Hong Kong Art School are holding an exhibition, That Which Can Be Imagined, featuring works in different mediums by students on its master of fine art Hong Kong programme. It runs until next Monday, from 10am to 8pm, at the Pao Galleries, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Wan Chai.

HKU academic's book wins prestigious award

Dr Alexandra Cook, associate professor at the University of Hong Kong's department of philosophy, has been awarded the prestigious The John Thackray Medal by the Society for the History of Natural History, in Britain, for what it described as her impressive scholarship in her "original and compelling" book , Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Botany: The Salutary Science, published by The Voltaire Foundation, Oxford, in 2012.
