“I usually don’t wear dresses but it’s so easy to wear with boots in the winter or nude sandals in the summer. I feel put together in it.”

“I love leopard print everything. My mom had a lot of leopard accessories when I was growing up and I’d often take them from her. It’s quite an easy print to wear because there are so many variations – I’ve even heard it called the ‘Latin neutral’.”

“I’m a trophy-jacket person. I think they complete any look. I’m still a jeans and T-shirt person and I think a jacket just makes it more polished, an attitude taken from menswear. The Chanel jacket was from Vestiaire Collective. It’s from the Dallas collection, but I never got it while it was in store so Vestiaire was a great way to take back missed opportunities.”

“Working in fashion, you always want to dress like you’re in the know and fashion-forward, whether it’s wearing trending silhouettes or brands that are hot in the moment. But I always wear it in the way that fits me. Part of my job is discovering new brands and pieces too, and I often draw inspiration from what I pull for shoots.”

“I like to shop from men’s collections. Like this jacket for example: my friend Greg [McNamara] had this Sandro denim jacket on, I asked him where he got it and went to buy it two days later. Even from the beginning my first good blazer was from Hedi Slimane’s Dior Homme collection. My friends are also ‘serial shoppers’ so we flag things for each other, whether it’s menswear or womenswear, which makes the whole experience more fun.”

“My style hasn’t changed much over the years. I’d say I had a Cali-girl style when I was in boarding school, lots of Abercrombie & Fitch and popped collars. Then when I moved to New York I wore a lot of black, and I think I still have a bit of both in me. Maybe I’m a Cali-girl in the summer and New York girl in the winter.

“But whatever the style, I think it’s important to have your own identity – I look up to people who have a strong sense of self, and you can tell who they are through their clothes.”

“The previous tenant [where I live] was an architect, and my closet was his office. The trunk belonged to my grandmother from when she moved from Shanghai to Hong Kong, and the lamp and hat rack were from my maternal grandfather from when he passed away. They were in his bedroom and as children we were never really allowed in there.
