Art meets fashion: six events from Hong Kong’s Art Basel, from Gucci to Louis Vuitton

Lane Crawford’s What Is Art campaign sees the retailer collaborate with various designers and brands to create a series of art-inspired products. One of the major highlights is a capsule collection by luxury streetwear brand Haculla that is inspired by street artist Harif Guzman. Guzman will make an in-store appearance, which will include a live painting performance.

Coach x Keith Haring Art Walk

Leather goods brand Coach honours late American artist Keith Haring, who is the inspiration for its spring 2018 collection, with an interactive art walk in Wan Chai. Lee Tung Avenue will be transformed with interactive and digital installations including graffiti displays inspired by the artist and a temporary tattoo station featuring Haring characters.

Lady Dior As Seen By Exhibition

Since 1995, the Lady Dior handbag has become an icon, with countless celebrity fans from the late Princess Diana to Carla Bruni.

Dior has enlisted a group of international artists including Ren Hwang, Liu Chih-hung and Olympia Scarry to reinterpret the bag exclusively for this exhibition.

Gucci Art Wall

Gucci has made headlines with its art walls in cities including Milan and New York. Hong Kong has its first Gucci Art Wall in Lan Kwai Fong. Created by Spanish artist Ignasi Monreal, it features three women, dressed in Gucci, fishing for planes in the clouds.

Until the end of May, D’Aguilar Street, Lan Kwai Fong, Central.

Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades

Louis Vuitton will showcase its collection of travel-inspired objects, which have been brought to life by a group of contemporary designers and artists including the Campana brothers and Hong Kong-based Andre Fu.

Fu has also designed the scenography for the exhibition. Guided tours are available for visitors.

Unskilled Worker

Unskilled Worker, aka Helen Downie, rose to fame with her Instagram-worthy illustrations and paintings that inspired a series of collaborations with Gucci. Nine of her artworks showcasing her whimsical and expressive style will be on display at Art Central.
