Before Lady Gaga wore a meat dress, or Madonna a Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra, there was Prince in all his outrageous stylistic glory.
Admired for decades of musical hits, he was almost as famous for his wild sartorial style on stage, and his ever changing hair. He often belted out his sexy, provocative lyrics that spanned disco, R&B, rock and funk in dazzling, colourful outfits to match. Plunging necklines, one-piece jumpsuits, miles of fringing and eye-popping hues - Prince was definitely one for drama.
Before Gucci made it en vogue again, it was musicians like Prince who were blurring fashion’s gender boundaries. We take a look at some of the finest fashion moments of the diminutive musical icon, who has died aged 57.
