Hong Kong charity Redress, an NGO that promotes sustainability in the fashion industry, is running a secondhand pop-up store at Pizza Express in Wan Chai this week. Fashion lovers can browse a range of items from luxury designers at heavily discounted prices, and all proceeds go to the charity. Bring your own clothes to donate and you’ll also score a 10 per cent discount on your shopping. Redress pop-up, September 7, 11.30am to September 9, 1.30pm. Pizza Express, G/F-1/F, 23 Wing Fung Street, Wan Chai. Entry’s free entry but remember it’s cash or cheque only.

Aurein swim is shipping its pieces worldwide at no extra charge.

Make a splash in Aurein

Hong Kong online swimwear brand Aurein swim is now sending swimsuits worldwide with free shipping. In the luxury of their own homes, mothers can try on one of seven designs made from Italian Carvico fabric and engineered to flatter the post-baby form. What we love about this brand is the option of matching mother-and-daughter swimsuits. Its collection also uses hi-tech fabrics for exceptional stretch, colour fastness and UV protection. “Mothers are so consumed in helping others that they often don’t get to take care of themselves – they can be forgotten and sidelined as attention is on baby or toddlers,” says Hong Kong mother of three and brand founder Angel Tsang. aureinswim.com

The art of pop-up

Anagram’s first pop-up store in Hong Kong is now open, bringing art-inspired pieces and intricate craftsmanship to Central. The Hong Kong design collective boasts easy-to-wear clothing, and to further its creative credentials it has incorporated the concept of “The Art of Dressing” by joining hands with Hong Kong-based contemporary artist and director David Cow.

Event to take Centrestage

A new international fashion event will be held in Hong Kong in September. Centrestage, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held from September 7 to 10 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. “We are positioning Centrestage to be a platform for international, especially Asian, fashion brands and designers to promote their brands and launch their collections,” says HKTDC deputy executive director Benjamin Chau. “Fashion brands can leverage the show to reach buyers, particularly select shops, department stores and e-retailers, as well as fashion media and fashion enthusiasts in the region.” The inaugural Centrestage will feature about 200 fashion brands and four thematic zones: glam, allure, metro and forward.

Westwood adds style to Harbour City event

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first mall in Asia and the largest mall in Hong Kong, Vivienne Westwood has designed a BE@ RBRICK for “Style Up BE@ RBRICK at Harbour City”. The British designer and activist incorporates her important environmental messages and the latest elements from her ready-to-wear collections to dress the BE@ RBRICK in a full Westwood look. Thirty-seven international fashion brands including Westwood have come together to create Hong Kong’s largest BE@ RBRICK fashion-art exhibition, from September 19 to October 16 at Harbour City.
