Fashions real Hongkongers choose: Nigel Yau, Rapha customer service manager
As a representative of a cycling apparel brand, Yau leads a fun and active lifestyle. Find out how he balances his looks for work and play
“Since I bike twice a week, I like to make sure the gear I’m wearing provides top performance without any hassle,” Nigel Yau says. “I’m wearing a Lazer helmet, Walz Caps cycling hat, and top, bottoms, shoes and gloves by Rapha.”
“I bought these socks from Taobao, which say ‘running’ in Chinese. I think it’s a nice contrast to wear these when I’m biking, plus they make a good conversation starter.”
Yau’s look for work
Yau wears a top from Uniqlo and pants by Lululemon.
“I bought these German army trainers back in 2010 from a vintage store in Venice,” Yau says. “I love them because they look like a pair of Maison Martin Margiela shoes that were very popular back then.”
Yau wears a Swatch watch and bracelets by Bottega Veneta and Argento.
Yau’s outfit for leisure
“Whether I’m working or relaxing on a hammock, I like materials that can move and stretch with my body, such as this cotton Lycra blend T-shirt from Harbour Runners, and shorts by Swrve,” he says.
Note: Shoes are from Nike
Yau’s essentials include spectacles from Linda Farrow, Oakley and Xander Zhou, a Sony camera and wide-angle lens from Moment, earphones from Bose, cutlery set from Snow Peak, Faber-Castell vintage pencil box, Prive pomade, trinkets from Rapha and Runners of Copenhagen, and a pocket knife set from Gerber.
