Slimane's sexy slashed leather trousers, sheer tops and micro minis for Saint Laurent in Paris

You can always judge a collection from the first look, so when the Saint Laurent show opened with a Courtney Love style pink prom dress worn with a tailored tweed jacket we knew we were in for a 1980s flashback, Slimane style, of course.

The vibe however was less Pretty in Pink and more Desperately Seeking Susan as seen in the sheer lace tops, full skirts and dresses (tulle underpinnings included) and animal print sequin cocktail dresses. These were mixed with a selection of his signatures, including menswear-inspired suits (this time styled with suspenders and skinny ties), Peter Pan collar dresses (with lipstick prints) and tailored jackets.

We all know that sex sells, and this time there was plenty of it from zippered leather mini dresses to super tight distressed leather trousers worn with a matching bra. A one-shoulder black dress barely covered the model’s breast. Slimane surprised us with more glamorous and edgy offerings, such as a strapless black gown with a tulle shield at the front that reached all the way up to the model’s chin. More of this please!
