K-pop group Aespa sign with Hollywood talent agency CAA, joining NCT 127 and SuperM, fellow SM Entertainment acts

Aespa are going Hollywood with a new deal. The four member K-pop act, produced by South Korean company SM Entertainment, have signed with high-profile US media and talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

Other acts currently signed with the California-based CAA include many of the most popular entertainers in the world, and fellow SM groups NCT 127 and SuperM.

The news was first reported by media outlet Pollstar on July 22, and SM Entertainment’s US-based executive Jeremy Lopez later confirmed it with an Instagram story. “Did something special,” he wrote, sharing a screenshot of the Pollstar story.

CAA also confirmed the news, posting on social media that the agency had signed the K-pop girl group.

Aespa, stylised formally as “aespa”, features members Winter, Karina, Ningning and Giselle, and their virtual “ae” counterparts. The act saw major interest before the release of their first single, Black Mamba, in 2020, and their recent single, Next Level, has proven a huge hit in South Korea.

SM Entertainment has focused heavily on the US market in recent years. It recently announced a reality-TV contest show, K-pop Goes Hollywood, wthe winner of which will become a member of a new group, NCT Hollywood.
