I love home-cooked meals, but I always have lunch out. It's so hard to say which is my favourite Hong Kong restaurant - depending on my mood, there are so many. I do enjoy local food such as siu mai and fish balls, so I get it all the time at the stall next to my store on Lockhart Road opposite World Trade Centre.

Sing Heung Yuen (2 Mee Lun Street, Central, tel: 2544 8368) is near my Central store and they specialise in noodles in tomato soup. The soup base is strong with tomato aroma. Be prepared to queue up if you wish to enjoy a bowl there.

One of my favourites is l'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (shop 401, 4/F The Landmark, 15 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2166 9000). I have enjoyed lunch there for many years and I am never disappointed by the quality, creativity and the staff's professionalism. I like the laid-back atmosphere of the counter while eating the delicate and refined dishes. The menu changes a lot but I always recommend foie gras and crab.

Man Mo Cafe (40 Upper Lascar Row, Sheung Wan, tel: 2644 5644) is owned by a friend and they try to do something new - a fusion between dim sum and French cuisine. It is really interesting and yummy. I like their burger, the duck fried rice and the bouillabaisse. Le Dôme de Cristal (2/F The Galleria, 9 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2116 4688) has a young chef from my region of France working there. He is quite masterful. The food is very authentic and nice. Not cheap but delicious and amazing presentation.

I love the chic modern-retro decor and excellent food at Cocotte (9 Shin Hing Street, Central, tel: 2568 8857) prepared by the lovely chef of Petrus. It's chic, contemporary, and very good. A friend named David opened La Cantoche (227 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, tel: 2426 0880) and it is pretty much like home-cooked French meals with an Asian twist. I am a huge fan of their rice crispies, a Cambodian recipe given to David by his mum.

For visiting friends, I generally take them to Din Tai Fung (various locations including 68 Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay, tel: 3160 8998) and the China Club (13/F and 14/F The Old Bank of China Building, Bank Street, Central, tel: 2521 8888) for the food, of course, but also the atmosphere.

Other local guilty pleasures include Liberty Private Works (26/F, 11 Stanley Street, Central, tel: 5186 3282). The tasting menu is amazing, but you need to be very hungry and book long in advance. I love DiVino (73 Wyndham Street, Central, tel: 2167 8883) for the delicious truffle pasta.
