Rum infusion system unveiled at Zuma; and Berry Bros. & Rudd make festive ginger liqueur gift set available

Zuma’s use of oak barrels connected by copper tubes to infuse rum has strong appeal to discerning palates; and The King’s Ginger from Berry Bros. & Rudd makes an ideal Christmas present

Zuma Zacapa Solera system barrels and copper tubes on the bar

Zuma, in collaboration with Ron Zacapa rum, recently unveiled the Zuma Zacapa Live Solera system of infusing rum. One of only eight in the world - the others are at Zuma outlets worldwide. The Solera system is comprised of oak barrels connected by copper tubes for the rum to travel through. The Solera system in each location delivers original cocktails designed to appeal to local palates. The exclusive flavour in Hong Kong is Szechuan and pink peppercorns, fennel seeds and duck fat infused with Zacapa’s premium rum. Once the rum has travelled through the barrels it is presented in a chilled glass with hand-cut engraved ice. And it does taste good.

Spice up your drinks cabinet or someone else’s with a tipple fit for a king this festive season with The King’s Ginger gift set by Berry Bros. & Rudd. Consisting of the King’s Ginger Liqueur, a high-strength liqueur of ginger root, enlivened with lemon oil for a fresh lift, it was created for King Edward V11 in 1903 by Berry Bros. & Rudd. The gift set also comes with a leather hip flask and brace of two extendable cups. Mix it with cider and apple juice for a mulled cider idea or Champagne in a flute for a festive celebration.
