400 Years of Shakespearean Songs

Local arts promoters Musica Viva commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of one of the greatest poets to ever put ink to paper (or papyrus). Performed by five vocalists, varying in range from soprano to bass, along with a piano accompaniment (by Natalia Tokar, pictured), the concert features some of the most popular songs based on, and taken from, musical versions of Shakespeare’s works, including Franz Joseph Haydn’s She Never Told Her Love (from Twelfth Night), Felix Mendelssohn’s Duet for two Elves (from A Midsummer Night’s Dream), and more.
