Netflix series The Politician, which is set in the leafy California town of Santa Barbara and stars Ben Platt as Payton Hobart, a high school student determined to become president of the United States, features the best dressed cast on television right now.

From the boho chic vibes of Georgina Hobart, Payton’s mom, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, who has a predilection for printed Gucci ensembles, resort-ready kaftans and fabulous jewellery, to the preppy outfits of Payton and his fellow high-school students, everyone looks polished, well put together and expensive.

Chanel suits and bags for the girls, Polo rugby shirts and cable-knit jumpers for the guys, and classic American staples for Payton, who has to look like the ultimate All-American good boy, are some of the fashion mainstays in the show, which also provides some real-estate porn thanks to the stunning mansions in which the characters live.

Jessica Lange, who plays Dusty Jackson, a down-and-out grandmother whose life is a far cry from that of her fellow characters, also deserves a special mention for her slightly kitsch, trashy outfits and that big bouffant.
